Covid-19 update:
Update: 1/16/2021 1:30pm
Welcome to all those visiting for the first time and welcome back to all.
We have said it before, but it is worth saying again…we hope you are your families and loved ones are staying safe, healthy, and happy.
We are now about one year from the date of first confirmed COVID-19 cases in the U.S. – a grim milestone.
If you are tracking the news regarding the COVID-19 virus, you’ve seen that hospitalizations, ICU utilization, and deaths attributed to the virus continue to rise steeply in California and across the nation.
You’ve also no doubt noted that Southern California’s ICU capacity remains at 0% as the state measures it. Recall that the state has committed to moving the region from the stay-at-home order and into its tiered system once ICU capacity reaches or is projected to reach 15%. Unfortunately, many projections show that we have not yet reached the peak for hospitalizations and ICU usage but will reach that peak over the coming two to three weeks.
We sincerely hope this is the final surge of the virus and the last peak in cases that we see. With holiday travel and gatherings behind us and improved treatments and vaccinations in front of us, we can all look forward to better times to come this year.
We believe it is still possible that San Diego County moves back to the state’s tier system in February, allowing us to move forward with outdoor wedding ceremonies and dinners. If indeed the peak in new cases comes in late January as predicted, then a decline in hospitalizations and ICU usage should follow about two to three weeks later. The rate at which ICU capacity recovers and the state moves away from its stay-at-home order will be directly impacted by the steepness of the drop in new cases. We may miss our mark of a February 10, 2021, resumption of event operations, but it is unlikely to be missed by much.
We look forward to those better days and we remain pledged to honor our values by acting in a way that is responsible, communicative, respectful, and compassionate.
We understand that certainty is difficult to come by these days and we wish we were able to positively predict the movement of the virus and the actions that the government may take. We cannot tell you definitely what they will do but we can commit to being there for you. Our Planning and Coordination team is ready to make your day the best it can be and our Client Relations representatives are ready to help you select the best venue and date for your wedding. Give us a call at 760.510.1606 to speak to a Coordinator or a Client Relations representative.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Thank you for selecting us to be a part of your special occasion!

Update: 1/9/2021 10:30am
Hello to all! We hope your new year has kicked off with hope, love, and joy.
Like you, we continue to carefully track and assess the state of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the response from government and regulatory agencies. We share with you the goal of protecting and ensuring the health and safety of our loved ones and for all for whom we are responsible.
As we watch new cases of COVID-19 and deaths attributed to the virus continue an upward trend, our hearts break and our commitment to a reopening timeline that is sensible and safe remains resolute. With many projections predicting that the high level of new cases and deaths will continue for a few more weeks, that resolution remains more important than ever.
As stated last week, we plan to resume event operations on February 10, 2021. Of course, we will continue to monitor the data and directives from appropriate authorities and make the best decisions we can for the preservation of health, life, and our values as an organization.
None of that is to say there is no positive news.
People the most in need are starting to get COVID-19 vaccines with news that more doses are arriving over the next couple of months.
Most projections show that new cases and deaths will begin to decline around or just after the first week of February 2021.
Healthcare techniques for treating the virus have improved and are continuing to improve.
For us, we are grateful for the opportunity to reflect on our relationships with our clients and employees and to better understand how we can act compassionately, empathetically, and supportively. We hope others have done the same and that the lessons we’ve learned will serve us well in the future.
On another positive note, please check on our website next week as we continue our COVID-19 updates but add additional articles of a more uplifting and practical nature.
In the meantime, our teams here at Trademark Venues continue to be here to support your needs in planning your wedding regardless of when it is occurring or helping you select the perfect date for your special day. For any help, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 760.510.1606.
Thank you for all your support,
The Trademark Team

Update: 12/28/2020 11:30am
Season’s greetings to each member of our Trademark family and to all of those considering becoming a part of the Trademark family.
We wish you the best of health and happiness as we end the year and look to the future. Although the COVID-19 virus continues to spread rapidly in Southern California and other places, there are a growing number of reasons to believe that we will soon enter a period of recovery.
Vaccines have arrived and are being distributed to critical front-line workers, in a matter of days the federal government will be providing much needed aid to individuals and businesses, the national guard is setting up additional hospital capacity, and federal healthcare aid workers will be arriving soon to help staff that additional capacity. Those are all good things, and we hope that they lead to the safe reopening of many more businesses in the very near future.
Last week, we wrote about a ruling made that temporarily opened restaurants in San Diego County. Only days later, another ruling overturned the order to allow restaurants to open resulting in their immediate re-closure. We do not expect any further action in this area at this time. As stated previously, Trademark has chosen to comply with the state orders in alignment with our core values that dictate we take responsibility for going the extra mile, we actively listen to our clients and colleagues, and that act with compassion and respect for all. We will continue to keep close tabs on new developments.
We are also closely monitoring the data regarding the virus as well as the statements from the government and from health experts.
The latest news from the government indicates that the current stay-at-home will be extended beyond its original three-week span. Fortunately, we did anticipate the extension and thus our decision made earlier to temporarily cease event operations through January 13, 2021. We will continue to assess that date along with the data and other information available to determine how to best safeguard the health and safety of our clients and guests, our employees, and the community.
As always, we are here for you. Our team of Coordinators and Client Relations Representatives are here to continue your wedding planning or to consult with you regarding a wedding date in 2021, 2022, or beyond.

Update: 12/12/2020
Welcome back and thank you for coming back for our latest update.
Last week, after analyzing the available data regarding COVID-19 and assessing the risks of continuing short-term operations, we made the agonizing decision to temporarily suspend event operations while continuing with virtual and limited in-person operations such as venue tours, consultation, and planning meetings. We made these decisions based on the data, projections, and the expectations and burden that our Core Values place upon us. Further, we previously stated our belief that continuing operations in the face of the massive surge in new cases of COVID-19 and the dwindling ICU capacity could be reckless and irresponsible.
We are unhappy to report that our decision appears to be the correct one. Regional ICU capacity is dropping precipitously and now sits in the single digits. Although San Diego County’s capacity remains relatively high compared to its neighbors, once the county begins to take transfers from counties that have reached their capacity it will fall quickly as well. We are also seeing the virus taking a heavy toll on the healthcare profession, further hampering its ability to meet this crisis. We sincerely wish a speedy recovery for all.
Despite the recent run of dark news, there is reason for hope. Many are doing their part to drive down the spread of the virus and there is promising news of vaccines on the way. Additionally, we can assure you that many couples have expressed their excitement for 2021 and 2022 by continued transferring and booking at our beautiful venues. We want you to know how much we appreciate that hope and the faith you have placed in us to create a safe and sustainable space for you, your guests, our employees, and the community.
Our plan remains to resume event operations on January 14, 2021, to assure a safe return for all. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and will communicate changes in this space weekly or even more often as warranted. Know that we continue to remain committed to exceeding your expectations, maintaining open and collaborative communications, and acting with our values and ethics in mind at all times.
If you wish to schedule a tour, virtual or otherwise, at one of our many venues or have questions or concerns regarding your already scheduled wedding, please call us at 760.510.1606 or visit us here. Our team is here to help.
Best wishes,
The Trademark Team
